GRANDVIEW, Ind. — Dean B. Smith, age 63, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 at home after a long illness. Dean was born November 26th, 1960 in Joliet, IL. He is the son of Robert B. Smith and Earlene E. (Banner) DeJaynes. He met his loving wife, Carol Caldwell, in 1999. Dean’s family meant the world to him and he loved them with all his heart! He enjoyed going fishing, talking on his amateur radio, working on his tractor and visiting with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Carol Caldwell of Grandview, IN.; children Elizabeth Ethridge of Scottsville, KY, Joshua Smith, Adam Caldwell of Rockford, IL. and Landyn Caldwell of Grandview, IN.; grandchildren Alyssa, Abby and Cordell; great grandchildren Natalya and Kathryn; siblings Dale (Cindy) Smith, Preston (Peni) Smith, Mark Smith, Janet (Randy) Johnson, Roberta (Mark) Hoyt; loving mother-n-law JoAnn Young; and many nieces and nephews. Dean was proceeded in death by his mother, father and sister Renee (Smith) Holder. A private burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by Simply Cremations.
