ROCHELLE — Perry F. Lawrence, 71, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 at his home with his family at his side. Perry was born on July 22, 1947 to Maxwell A. and Dorothy M. (Aughenbaugh) Lawrence in Rochelle. He married Karen Lynn Brown on Oct. 22, 1972 in Rochelle.
Perry always knew he wanted to be a truck driver. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears, collecting sports cards, and listening to old time radio. He loved anything and everything about trains and trucks.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Perry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen; three children, Darrin (Tina) Lawence, Jimmy Lawrence both of Rochelle and Sherry Wendel of Davis Junction; brother, Darwin (Carole) Lawrence of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister, Verla Pillion of DeKalb; and five grandchildren, Amber, Corey and Zackary Lawrence, Tyler and Allison Wendel.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Nov. 25 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family.
Cremation care has been provided by the Unger Horner Funeral Home.
