LINDENWOOD — Nancy Marie (Schreiber) Heisner, age 74, of Lindenwood, peacefully passed away on December 8, 2023, in Oregon, Illinois. She was born on March 12, 1949, in Aurora, to the late John and Vera Schreiber. She married the love of her life, Otto Heisner, on August 7, 1971 in Montgomery, Illinois. Nancy was a dedicated, loving, and wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, with family as the center of her life. Nancy was known for her passion for cooking, baking, collecting, and bargain shopping. She was also committed to supporting her community, and was strong in her faith.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Otto, and her sons: Phillip (Martha) Heisner of Kirkwood, Missouri, and their children: Jason and Alison, Patrick (Missy) Heisner of Ashton, Illinois and their children: Breanna, Karyn (Kae), and Chance, and Matthew (Kelli) Heisner of Sycamore, Illinois and their children: Kailey, Kelsey, and Jonathan (Jack). Nancy is also survived by her sister, Mary (Todd) McGowan, her brother-in-law, James Heisner, her sister-in-law, Jeanie (Mark) Penwell, and her cousins: April (Kent) Schielke, Diane (Tim) Broadway, and Donald (Connie) Dahlin. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vera Schreiber; her son, Christopher; her sister, Patricia Schreiber, and her sister-in-law, Jane Heisner. 

Nancy attended primary school at St. Peter's Grade School in Aurora, Illinois, Madonna High School in Aurora, Illinois, and later pursued higher education in History Education at Bradley University. She enjoyed spending time as a Cub Scout Den Leader, 4-H Leader, and welcoming tour groups to the family dairy farm. She had a fulfilling career as a homemaker and served as an administrative assistant at the University of Illinois Extension office in Sycamore.

Nancy worshiped at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle. 

The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, Illinois for their care in Nancy's final days. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Serenity Hospice and Home, and the DeKalb County 4-H Foundation in Nancy's memory.

Visitation will be held 4:30 - 7:30 PM, Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th Street, Rochelle, IL.
