ROCKFORD — Gregory Allen Leather Age 65 passed away Friday, December 8th, in his home in Rockford IL. Greg was born on April 19th, 1958 in Rochelle Illinois to Louise (Leathers) Ginn and Denver Thompson. He was raised by both his mother and stepfather George Ginn Sr. 

A proud veteran, Gregory served in the Navy before transitioning to the Air Force Reserves as a small arms instructor. Through his military commitment, he had the chance to travel to many places and gain invaluable experiences. His time in the military took him to various parts of the world, where he undoubtedly made an impact on the lives of those around him. 

Greg is survived by his two daughters: Victoria Billerbeck and Bonnie Sue Leathers who reside in ClearWater Florida. His sisters Beth (Steve) Stricker of Lady Lake Florida, and Rose (Doug) Ball of Rochelle Illinois. His brother George Ginn Jr. of Davis Junction Illinois. His partner and soulmate Kelly Peters, her daughter Tayrinn son Randy, and two grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by Louise (Leathers) Ginn (Mother), George Ginn Sr. (Step-Father), and Denver Thompson (Father)
