OREGON — The Rochelle Wrestling Club crowned two champions during the Oregon Hawk Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 11. Chase Marruffo and Steel Manning each went undefeated to take first place in their respective brackets. Eight club members competed in the tournament.

Marruffo (3-0) led Rochelle in the Tots Division, while Nehemiah Andronic (1-1) placed second and both Xander Gonzales and Danny Johnson took fourth. Manning (3-0) spearheaded the charge in the Bantam Division, with Garrett Miller finishing fourth. Vaughn Manning (2-1) took second place in the Intermediate Division and Montana Contreras placed fourth.

Sycamore

The Rochelle Wrestling Club sent a fleet of junior grapplers to the Sechrest Good Guys Tournament in Sycamore on Sunday, Jan. 12. Thirteen Rochelle wrestlers won championships throughout the day including Chase Marruffo, Rowen Villalobos, Quentin Ansteth, Dominic Escatel, Zachary Johnson, Aidan Lopez, Deegan Schabacker, Roman Villalobos, Grant Gensler, Brandyn Metzger, Kaiden Morris, Tommy Tourdot and Xavier Villalobos.

Marruffo (3-0) and Rowen Villalobos (3-0) led Rochelle in the Tots Division. Elliot Huff (2-1) and Nehemiah Andronic (2-1) both finished second in their respective brackets, while Silas Alsop (1-2), Felix Belmonte (1-2) and Danny Johnson (1-2) took third. Quade Dickey finished fourth.

Ansteth (3-0) and Escatel (3-0) earned titles for Rochelle in the Bantam Division. Quaid Heitz (2-1) and Landon Johnson (2-1) both took second in their respective brackets, with Gavin Smtih (2-1) and Emilyn Voight (1-2) each placing third. Garrett Miller and Lindzi Kirk finished fourth.

Zachary Johnson (3-0) and Lopez (3-0) went unbeaten for championships in the Intermediate Division, while Axel Alsop placed fourth. Schabacker (3-0) and Roman Villalobos (3-0) earned titles in the Novice Division, with Tony Milburn (2-1) and Brenden Voight (2-1) taking second in their respective brackets. Brandin Kirk (1-2) placed third.

Tourdot (3-0), Xavier Villalobos (3-0), Metzger (3-0), Gensler (3-0) and Morris (3-0) dominated their respective brackets for Senior Division championships on Sunday. Weylin Nay placed fourth.
