The Forge Wrestling Club continued its spring season with the 2024 Mukwonago Freestyle and Greco-Roman tournaments at Mukwonago High School in Wisconsin on Saturday.

Rochelle's Morris wins two division titles on Saturday

MUKWONAGO, Wis. — The Forge Wrestling Club continued its spring season with the 2024 Mukwonago Freestyle and Greco-Roman tournaments at Mukwonago High School in Wisconsin on Saturday. Two Rochelle athletes brought home first-place finishes in the tournaments.

Greco-Roman

Kaiden Morris finished first in the Junior 210-268 Division with a 4-0 record. Morris scored four straight technical falls to win the division, defeating Mukwonago’s Hunter Szyszkiewicz 9-0, Mukwonago’s Nathan Ipsa 9-0, Fox Lake’s Ryel DeLeon 8-0 and Jay Krueger 10-0. 

Joshua Lassiter finished first in the 16U 140-150 Division with a 3-0 record, notching 10-0 technical falls over Wisconsin’s Kayden Vannatta and Askren Wrestling’s Skyler Blockwitz as well as an 8-0 technical fall over Kewaskum Indians Wrestling’s Tyler Rabuck. Benjamin Morris took fourth in the 14U 142-147 Division and Joshua Hernandez took fourth in the 14U 98-104 Division.

Freestyle

Kaiden Morris finished first in the Junior 215-268 Division with a 3-0 record, scoring a 21-13 decision over Mukwonago’s Hunter Szyszkiewicz before earning a forfeit from Fox Lake’s Ryel DeLeon and securing an 11-0 technical fall against Wisconsin’s Josh Taylor. Joshua Lassiter took second in the 16U 138-146 Division with a 2-1 record, earning 10-0 technical falls against Wisconsin’s Nathan Hines and Victory School of Wrestling’s Ian Bronson.

Benjamin Morris finished third in the 14U 147-157 Division with a 1-2 record and Trayvon Rucker finished third in the Junior 124-132 Division with a 1-2 record. Joshua Hernandez placed fourth in the 14U 98-100 Division.
