ROCHELLE — Rochelle senior Kennedy Adamski said she’s excited to reunite with a former Lady Hub teammate next year, when she takes the floor with the Kishwaukee College women’s volleyball team. Adamski recently signed to continue her volleyball career with the Lady Kougars, who were led by former Rochelle outside hitter Addie Friestad this past season.

“I picked Kishwaukee College because of the local environment and the coaching staff,” Adamski said. “I’m excited to play with Addie again and continue playing for coach Zach [Salapatek]. I am looking forward to a quicker paced game with different opponents.”

Adamski has participated in three sports throughout her four years at Rochelle. The senior middle hitter spent four years with the Lady Hub volleyball program including three years with the varsity team, helping Rochelle to a 17-16 record during the 2023 season. Adamski totaled 94 kills and 18 blocks during her senior season after finishing with 116 kills and 31 blocks during her junior season. Adamski is a two-time Interstate 8 Academic All-Conference honoree.

“Playing at Rochelle has given me a sense of routine and time management that will help me tremendously at the college level,” Adamski said. “I improved in diversity and also specialization the most. I became good at my position and what I do, which will carry over into my college career. I picked up some other skills filling in positions when my teammates weren’t there.”

In addition to volleyball, Adamski spent four years with the Lady Hub basketball program including two years with the varsity team, earning Academic All-Conference honors in both her junior and senior seasons. Adamski is also in her third season with the Lady Hub track and field team, competing in multiple events including the high jump, long jump and triple jump. Adamski received Academic All-Conference honors twice in basketball and once in track and field.

"Kennedy is such a great team leader," RTHS volleyball coach Molly Sly said. "She is a great competitor and she never lets up."

Adamski said she intends to earn her associate’s degree in psychology while attending Kishwaukee College. She said she eventually hopes to pursue a career in psychology.
