Snow Day at the Flagg Township Museum is Saturday

ROCHELLE — At the Flagg Township Museum it will be warm and cozy and all about snow. Snow Day at the Museum will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20 between noon and 4 p.m. when the museum is open. We definitely have snow, and we definitely have cold temperatures so it’s a perfect day to come inside for some fun snow activities and wintry treats.

Make a giant snowflake, build a snowman, try a snowball toss, or even have a snowball fight – we’ll be doing it all. Wintry treats will warm you up too.

The exhibit in our Cabinet of Curiosities is about the history of The City and Town Hall and its many uses and continues through January, the first of our celebrations of birthdays this year. What better way to start than with the 140th birthday of The City and Town Hall building built in 1884.

We hope to celebrate many birthdays during 2023 including Rochelle churches, banks, schools, and people. If you have information or artifacts or stories about any of these topics give us a call (815 562-3040), email (hubhistory@gmail.com), or come visit. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The mission of the Flagg Township Historical Society and Museum is to stimulate interest in Flagg Township history through education, research, collection and preservation of information for the benefit of the public of today and in the future.
