ROCHELLE — Junior midfielder Makayla Lara managed to find the back of the LaSalle-Peru net on a second-half corner kick during the Rochelle Lady Hub varsity soccer team's Interstate 8 Conference match against the Cavaliers on Monday evening.
Lara's goal helped the Lady Hubs avoid a shutout during their 10-1 loss to the Cavaliers. LaSalle-Peru controlled the first half, holding a 5-0 halftime advantage before closing out the second half with four consecutive goals to end the match in shortened time. Senior goalkeeper Danica Ward finished with 17 saves for the Lady Hubs (0-6, 0-2), who will host Sycamore on Wednesday.
