The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office and the Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Department and ambulance responded at 5:36 a.m. on July 8 to the intersection of IL Route 251 and IL Route 72 in Davis Junction for a two-vehicle accident with injuries. A Ford Escape driven by David Amariles, 36, of Monroe Center, was traveling westbound on IL Route 72 stopped at the intersection of IL Route 251. As he entered the intersection, an Infinity G20 driven by Sharon Powers, 67, of Rockford, was northbound on IL Route 251. Powers’ vehicle failed to stop at the intersection, striking the Ford Escape. Amariles and his passenger, a 13-year-old female of Monroe Center, refused medical treatment. Powers was transported to SwedishAmerican Hospital by the Lynn-Scott-Rock ambulance with minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation. (Photo by Rodney Hayenga/Lynn-Scott-Rock)
