RTHS’s Perrin recognized as IPA assistant principal for the year for region

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Township High School District #212 recently announced that RTHS Assistant Principal Dr. David J. Perrin has been recognized as the Illinois Principal Association (IPA) Assistant Principal of the Year for the state's Northwest Region.

Dr. Perrin will represent Rochelle’s region as the IPA chooses a state Assistant Principal of the Year from all the regional principal winners. There are 13 total regional winners from the state of Illinois.

Regarding the recognition of Assistant Principal of the Year, Dr. Perrin said, "I am humbled and grateful for this acknowledgment. RTHS has been an exceptional place to work, and I appreciate the opportunity to make a positive impact on our students."

Dr. Perrin has played a pivotal role in spearheading the district’s mentor program, instructional coaching, and teacher professional development programs, noted Rochelle Township High School District #212 Principal Dr. Chris Lewis.

"With a significant number of retirements in the past seven years, Dr. Perrin has been instrumental in providing support, especially to our new teachers,” Lewis said.

"Our district is immensely proud that Dr. David J. Perrin received the IPA Assistant Principal of the Year recognition. Dr. Perrin's dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to our students' success have positively impacted Rochelle Township High School. His passion for excellence is truly commendable, and we are fortunate to have him working tirelessly for the best outcomes for our students,” Tom Huddleston, president, RTHS School Board, said.

Dr. Perrin has been an assistant principal at RTHS District #212 for the last seven years. He has worked a total of 30 years at RTHS. He was an English teacher before becoming the assistant principal. Dr. Perrin will retire at the end of this school year with 33 years of education experience.
