BOURBONNAIS — Local gymnast Pearson Putzstuck competed at the 2024 Illinois State Gymnastics Championships at the Adventure Commons in Bourbonnais from March 22-24.
Putzstuck received multiple state medals for his six performances, which included second-place finishes in pommel horse, parallel bars and high bar as well as a third-place finish in floor and fifth-place finishes in rings and vault.
Putzstuck, who trains at Energym Gymnastics in Sycamore and is in his first year of gymnastics, finished second all-around at the 3D2 level with a final score of 52.2 points. Putzstuck is coached by Zachary McCue and Zachary Cipra.
