PLANO — Three-point shots burned the Rochelle Hub varsity basketball team during Monday's nonconference matchup against Plano. The Reapers drilled 16 triples and shot nearly 52 percent from beyond the arc, with Pryor Bode making eight of them and scoring a game-high 24 points as Plano beat the Hubs 90-67.

Junior guard Carson Lewis led Rochelle (10-16, 3-5 Interstate 8) with 14 points and five rebounds while sinking four 3-point shots in the loss. Senior guard Jack Tracey totaled 11 points and junior guard Cayden Moore recorded 10 points and five rebounds. Plano took control in the second half, where the Reapers outscored Rochelle 46-30 to seal the nonconference victory on Monday.

Sophomore guard Van Gerber chipped in eight points, three rebounds and two steals for the Hubs, while freshman forward Brody Bruns grabbed a team-leading 12 rebounds and added six points in the game. Junior guard Elijah Harley contributed eight points as well as four rebounds and three assists for the Hubs, who outscored Plano 27-9 in transition despite the loss.

Rochelle will return home for a nonconference game against Sterling on Tuesday. The Hubs will then look to extend their Interstate 8 Conference winning streak to four with a road game against LaSalle-Peru on Friday evening.
