ROCHELLE — At 1:27 p.m. the Rochelle Police Department received a call from the Union Pacific Railroad's dispatch center stating a woman had walked in front of a train near Washington Street in downtown Rochelle.
Officers and members of the Rochelle Fire Department responded to the area and were able to locate a female subject, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ogle County Coroner's Office and the Illinois State Police are assisting in the identifying the woman. This incident is still under active investigation.
