GENESEO — The Rochelle varsity volleyball team suffered a tough loss at Geneseo on Thursday, losing two games by a score of 10-25, 17-25 to drop to 10-8-1 on the season and 2-2 in Northern Illinois Big 12 West play. Rochelle will host Leland on Monday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.
Senior Emma Mehrings and junior Katie Van Hise each recorded five kills in the loss, while sophomore Clare Green recorded 14 assists. Mehrings led the Lady Hubs with six digs with seniors Sarah Craven and Grace Orlikowski adding four digs.
The Rochelle sophomore volleyball team dropped to 5-8 on the season with a 14-25, 25-27 loss at Geneseo on Thursday. Freshman Sylvia Hasz led the Lady Hubs with five kills and six aces while freshman Allie Tyrrell-Martin and sophomores Jesenia Solano and Afi Gati combined for three kills.
The Rochelle freshman volleyball team began the week with a three-game victory over Sterling (22-25, 25-22, 25-22) on Tuesday before falling at Geneseo on Thursday 16-25, 16-25. The freshmen are now 4-9 overall.
