Track: Rochelle teams take over Augustana College

Hubs take second, Lady Hubs finish 10th at Assumption Invitational

ROCK ISLAND — The Rochelle track and field programs competed at the Assumption Invitational at Augustana College this past Saturday. The Hubs finished second out of 10 schools with 83 points, while the Lady Hubs took 10th out of 15 schools with 21 points. Senior Paralympic athlete Aubrey Headon surpassed the world record in the long jump with a leap of 9-0 ½.

Boys

Senior Mason DeLille placed third in the high jump with a leap of 5-8 and senior Dallas List finished sixth in the long jump with a mark of 18-8 ¼. Rochelle took second in the 800-meter sprint medley relay with a time of 1:41.68.

Senior Jessee Infante claimed the victory in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:42.18, while junior Santi Cordoba took fourth with a time of 11:05.53. The Hubs finished sixth in the 3200-meter relay with a time of 9:57.60 and second in the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:08.31.

Senior Connor Lenkaitis won the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.86 seconds, and junior Ben Hickey took third with a time of 56.22.

Rochelle’s 800-meter relay group placed sixth with a time of 1:41.39. Seniors Ryan Friestad and Dylan Finkboner took third and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with times of 17.52 and 17.88. Jessee Infante finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:10.69 and sixth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:02.19. Rochelle finished second in the 1600-meter relay with a time of 3:42.63.

Girls

Freshman Teagan Meyers took fifth in the high jump with a clearance of 4-8, while junior Gabrielle Harding placed seventh in the shot put with a heave of 32-5 ½ and sixth in the discus with a throw of 101-7. Rochelle finished seventh in the 800-meter sprint medley relay with a time of 1:59.47.

Senior Katherine Bakken took home first place in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:03.34 and Rochelle took sixth in the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:20.25. Junior Macey Ryan placed seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.35 and sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.56 while Teagan Meyers was seventh in 1:05.39.

Rochelle placed eighth in the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:58.33 and Macey Ryan finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.33. Senior Abby Tilton took seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:14.64 and Katherine Bakken placed fifth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:21.64.
