OTTAWA — The Rochelle boys and girls track and field programs competed head-to-head against Ottawa on Tuesday. The Hubs defeat the Pirates 91-55, while the Lady Hubs knocked off the Lady Pirates 88-58.
Boys
Rochelle finished first in the 3200-meter relay with a time of 9:45.72, and the Hubs edged out Ottawa in the 400-meter relay, winning with a time of 49.75 seconds to 49.87 seconds by the Pirates. Junior Gyvanziel Quinonez took first in the 3200-meter run, with junior Santi Cordoba and senior Jessee Infante placing second and third.
Senior Ryan Friestad placed second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.34 and sophomore Trevor Goodwin finished third in 18.56. Gyvanziel Quinonez won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.58, with junior Tucker Louis placing second (2:26.03) and Jessee Infante taking third (2:26.44).
Senior Connor Lenkaitis finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.09, and senior Dylan Finkboner took first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.34 while Ryan Friestad placed second in 48.98. Gyvanziel Quinonez won the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:17.12, and the Hubs won the 1600-meter relay with a time of 3:53.16.
Senior Dallas List finished first in the long jump with a leap of 18-4 and senior Mason DeLille took first in the triple jump with a mark of 39-6 ¼. Junior Ben Hickey placed first in the high jump with a clearance of 5-8 and junior Aaron Vondergathen won the pole vault with a clearance of 10-6.
Girls
Rochelle finished first in both the 3200-meter relay (12:44.02) and the 400-meter relay (55.12). Senior Abby Tilton placed first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.29, and junior Macey Ryan took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.62 while freshman Liberty Hayes was second in 13.71.
Rochelle won the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:58.03, and junior Britney Baez took first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:53.09 and second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:15.06. Seniors Abby Tilton and Grace Garcia earned the top two spots in the 300-meter hurdles with times of 55.62 and 57.41.
Junior Maddie Ohlinger took first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.30, and the Lady Hubs won the 1600-meter relay with a time of 4:45.50. Freshmen Lucy Bunger (12-7 ½) and Liberty Hayes (12-6) finished first and third in the long jump. Maddie Ohlinger (30 feet), freshman Teagan Meyers (26-11) and senior Cam Turner (26-8) took the top three spots in the triple jump.
Teagan Meyers won the high jump with a clearance of 4-6. Junior Gabrielle Harding (32-7) and sophomore Afi Gati (31-11 ½) finished second and third in the shot put. Gabrielle Harding took first in the discus with a throw of 104-5.
