DEKALB — The Rochelle Area Track Club sent four competitors to the United States of America Track & Field Junior Olympic Region 7 Championship at Northern Illinois University this past weekend, with Anna Harvey, David Dreska and Zachary Dreska qualifying for the USATF Junior Olympic National Championships in Lawrence, Kansas.
David Dreska finished third out of seven athletes in the 11-12 boys shot put with a heave of 24-7 (7.49 meters), while Zachary Dreska placed third out of seven throwers in the 9-10 boys javelin throw with a mark of 50-10 (15.50 meters). Caleb Dreska took sixth in the 9-10 boys long jump with a leap of 11-1 ½ (3.39 meters), with Harvey taking fourth in the 13-14 girls pole vault with a height of 7-0 ½ (2.15 meters) to round out the RATC squad.
