Shirley Jean Patrick, 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. Shirley was born on Jan. 6, 1938 to Charles and Sarah (Bolenbaugh) Meyer in Osgood, Indiana. On April 15, 1961, she married William “Bill” Anthony Patrick in Streator.

ROCHELLE — Shirley Jean Patrick, 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. Shirley was born on Jan. 6, 1938 to Charles and Sarah (Bolenbaugh) Meyer in Osgood, Indiana. On April 15, 1961, she married William “Bill” Anthony Patrick in Streator.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by all 11 of her brothers and sisters.
While raising her four children, Shirley also worked as a hair stylist out of her home. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was very artistic and talented which was evident in her various crafts, woodworking projects and paintings.
Outdoor gardening and flowers were among her many specialties. Shirley had a smile that would light up the entire room. Everyone was always welcomed and their life was brightened just by knowing her and experiencing her genuine warmth.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill Patrick, of Rochelle; four children, Mark (Maryanne) Patrick of Gilbert, Arizona, Cindy (Joe) Pendergrass of Georgetown, Kentucky, Scott (Kristine) Patrick of Trophy Club, Texas, and Eric (Joanna) Patrick of Rochelle; 10 grandchildren, Lucas, Dominic and Noah Patrick, Sam and Sarah Pendergrass, Ashley and Abbey Patrick and William (Ashley) Patrick, Aaron (Paige Samp) Patrick and Alison (Trevor) Owen; five great-grandchildren, Evan, Jace, Ella, Gavin and Bryson.
Per Shirley’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Serenity Hospice and Home.
Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home.
