Once complete, Liberty Village will offer specialized care approach for residents

ROCHELLE – Construction of the new Liberty Village Retirement Community is progressing nicely, and the building is really starting to take shape. Once completed, Liberty Village of Rochelle will offer an age in place campus, unique to the Rochelle community.  The campus will consist of beautifully designed neighborhoods, which will provide an individualized care approach defined by the needs of the resident.

“We are thankful and excited that we will be able to care for residents with varying needs.  We are already able to provide exceptional assisted living care at the Hawthorne Inn, formerly known as San Gabriel. We purchased that assisted living facility in 2018, and then started construction right next door, where we will soon be providing both long and short term skilled care, memory care, and physical, occupational and speech therapy. A fitness center will also be available which can be used by any of the residents,” explained Peggy Holt, campus administrator.

By offering multiple levels of care in one campus, it helps to minimize the need for a patient to transfer to a different location. Once completed, the campus will feature state-of-the-art equipment and amenities offering residents privacy and comfort.

“Everything is designed for our seniors. The rooms, hallways and doorways are much larger than the average facility.  With this newest design, we will have 60 private suites, and the semi-private rooms will offer additional privacy to residents with a dividing wall between the beds,” explained Holt.

“The Bounce Back Therapy Department, along with some of the bedrooms throughout the skilled center, will also have a ceiling lift used to aid in supporting residents as they are being transferred within their room or in the process of learning to walk again after sustaining an injury or illness,” said Ken Miars, regional director of marketing.

Don Fike, Developer of Liberty Village, states, “Rochelle should be very proud of what they have accomplished by helping to expand this beautiful campus.  If all goes well and the weather permits for the rest of construction, we plan for Liberty Village to be open to the public by spring of 2020.”
