ROCHELLE — Paula Christine “Chris” Watson, 73, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon after a short illness.  She was born on Jan. 23, 1946 in Rochelle, the daughter of Frederick William (Bill) and Signe (Larsen) Eber.  
Chris worked as a bookkeeper at her father’s business, Eber Remodeler’s and later as an entrepreneur at C.W. Services/Lincoln Center. She was employed by the City of Rochelle as a Crossing Guard since 2002.
Chris was an active member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church, serving on many committees, as well as serving on several local civic boards including: Rotary, Rochelle Zoning board, RADAC Civic Center, and was an original board member of H.O.P.E.  She was a very active mother and grandmother, helping in Camp fire, PTA’s, and Treehouse youth center. She enjoyed cake decorating, cross stitching, and other handiwork. But most importantly, she loved to be at all of her grandchildren’s events being their biggest fan.

Chris is survived by her two daughters, Ami Watson and Melissa (Terry) Inman, both of Rochelle; two grandchildren, Alec Seebach and Hayden Inman; siblings Marcia (Jerry) Massie of Avondale, Arizona, Steven (Sue) Eber of Trinity Texas, and Melanie Eber of Westminster, Colorado; along with a niece, two nephews and large extended family.
Chris is preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 18 at the Rochelle United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle.
Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice and Home, Rochelle United Methodist Church or to the family.  
Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery.
