SYCAMORE — Paul W. Snyder Sr., 63, of Sycamore, died Thursday, May 24, 2018, at his home.
He was born Jan. 31, 1955, in Norfolk, Va., the son of Arthur and Jean (Elliott) Snyder. Paul married Leslie Ann Larson on September 28, 1978, in Fountain Valley, Calif.
After graduation from high school, Paul joined the United States Navy, serving for four years on the USS O’Callahan and USS Kilauea. Paul was employed by Ideal Industries in Sycamore as a master electrician for 32 years. He enjoyed motorcycle road trips, traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Italy and England. Paul enjoyed his family and friends, especially his great-nephew Nathan, friendly poker and card games with friends and was an avid Bears fan.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie; sister-in-law, Waunita Rosenbaum; brother-in-law, Greg Larson; niece, Lindsey (Stephen) Kempert; and great-nephew, Nathan Kempert.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alison; son, Paul Jr.; his parents; and his brother John Snyder.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery, DeKalb, with full military honors by DeKalb American Legion Post 66.
