On Oct. 6 at approximately 9:02 p.m. deputies responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of Main Street in Leaf River. After investigation, deputies placed Anthony Apodaca, 40, of Leaf River under arrest for battery, violation of an order of protection and a valid Ogle County warrant for failure to appear (violation of an order of protection). Apodaca was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Oct. 6-7

OREGON — On Oct. 6 at approximately 9:02 p.m. deputies responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of Main Street in Leaf River. After investigation, deputies placed Anthony Apodaca, 40, of Leaf River under arrest for battery, violation of an order of protection and a valid Ogle County warrant for failure to appear (violation of an order of protection). Apodaca was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.   

On Oct. 7 at 4:46 a.m. deputies were dispatched to Flagg Road at Lowden Road for the report of a two-vehicle crash with no injuries. After an investigation, it was determined that Austin Pearson, 20, of Oregon was driving eastbound on Flagg Road in a Nissan passenger car, stopping with traffic at the stop sign for the intersection of Lowden Road. Antonio Stokes, 31, of Dixon was also traveling eastbound on Flagg Road in a Lincoln SUV, and failed to reduce speed to prevent an accident, striking the rear bumper of Pearson’s Nissan. During the investigation, it was determined that Stokes was driving on a revoked driver’s license. Stokes was taken into custody and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. Stokes was also cited for failure to reduce speed to prevent an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

On Oct. 7 at approximately 5:21 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 6,000 block of North Illinois Route 2. After further investigation, Arturo M. Garcia, 25, of Rockford, was placed under arrest for no valid driver's license. Garcia was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no valid registration. Garcia was released on an I-Bond.

On Oct. 7 at approximately 6:34 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a driving complaint at Main Street and 6th Street in Leaf River. As a result, deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of Main Street. After further investigation a juvenile female of Leaf River was placed under arrest for no valid driver's license. The juvenile was released to a guardian with a date to appear in court.
