On Oct. 2 at about 4:15 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Franklin Street and Third Street in Oregon. After a short investigation, deputies arrested Jerome Huenefeld, 21, of Oregon for unlawful possession of cannabis/driver and cited him for no turn signal when required. Huenefeld was released on an I-bond and will appear in court at a later date.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Oct. 2-4

OREGON — On Oct. 2 at about 4:15 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Franklin Street and Third Street in Oregon. After a short investigation, deputies arrested Jerome Huenefeld, 21, of Oregon for unlawful possession of cannabis/driver and cited him for no turn signal when required. Huenefeld was released on an I-bond and will appear in court at a later date.  

On Oct. 2 at approximately 7:50 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2,000 block of north Illinois Route 251 for a speeding violation of 73 m.p.h. in a 55 m.p.h. zone. After a brief investigation, Ethan Greiner, 19, of Rockford, was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license. Greiner was also cited for speeding. Greiner was released at the scene on an I-bond and given court date to appear in court.

On Oct. 3 at approximately 9:07 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Washington Street and Seventh Street in Oregon. After further investigation, Timothy Smith, 54, of Oregon, was placed under arrest for driving while license revoked and an outstanding Ogle County warrant. Smith was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper use of registration. Smith was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On Oct. 3 at approximately 1:40 a.m. deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash with no injuries in the 1,100 block of East Mud Creek Road. After investigation, deputies placed Jorge Carreno, 34, of Byron under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Carreno was additionally issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured vehicle. Carreno was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On Oct. 3 at approximately 1:40 p.m. deputies assisted a motorist broken down on the southbound exit ramp of Interstate 39 at Illinois Route 38. While on scene it was discovered the driver, Fernando Macias-Ramirez, 33, of Kansas City, Missouri, did not possess a valid driver's license.  Macias-Ramirez was placed under arrest where he received citations for no valid license and no valid registration. Macias-Ramirez was issued a $2,500 I-bond and provided a return court date​.

On Oct. 4, deputies arrested Leticia Bondurant, 31, of Montgomery, Illinois for driving while license suspended. Bondurant was arrested by deputies on Interstate 39 near Rochelle after being stopped for speeding. Bondurant was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.
