On Oct. 12 at about 12:19 p.m. deputies stopped a 2005 Chevy Cobalt on Interstate 39 at mile marker 101 northbound for an equipment violation. After a short investigation, deputies arrested Omar Spearman, 34, of Iowa City, Iowa for driving while his license was suspended. Spearman was released on a $2,500 I-Bond and will appear in court on Nov. 12 at 9 a.m.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Oct. 12-13

OREGON — On Oct. 12 at about 12:19 p.m. deputies stopped a 2005 Chevy Cobalt on Interstate 39 at mile marker 101 northbound for an equipment violation. After a short investigation, deputies arrested Omar Spearman, 34, of Iowa City, Iowa for driving while his license was suspended. Spearman was released on a $2,500 I-Bond and will appear in court on Nov. 12 at 9 a.m.

On Oct. 12 at approximately 7:03 p.m. deputies responded to a violation of order of protection in the 300 block of West Balsam Street in Forreston. After investigation, deputies placed Darrell Starr Jr., 38, of Forreston under arrest for violation of an order of protection. Starr was transported to the Ogle County Jail pending a court appearance in front of a judge. 

On Oct. 13 at approximately 6:21 p.m. deputies responded to the area of Broad Street and Green Street in Grand Detour for a check welfare of an intoxicated subject. After investigation, deputies placed James Abbott, 28, of Grand Detour, under arrest for aggravated battery to a peace officer. Abbott was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond awaiting a court appearance.
