On July 23 at approximately 8:51 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 88 at mile marker 77. After investigation, deputies arrested Christena M. Poole, 34, of DeKalb, for no valid driver's license and an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence. Poole was also issued a citation for an equipment violation. Poole was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where she was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: July 23-27

OREGON — On July 23 at approximately 8:51 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 88 at mile marker 77. After investigation, deputies arrested Christena M. Poole, 34, of DeKalb, for no valid driver's license and an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence. Poole was also issued a citation for an equipment violation. Poole was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where she was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

On July 24 at approximately 10:35 a.m. deputies were advised of a driving complaint traveling southbound in the 1,000 block South Illinois Route 2. A short time later, deputies were updated with another driving complaint on the same vehicle traveling back northbound on Illinois Route 2.  At approximately 10:58 a.m. deputies located the vehicle and driver in the 7,000 Block of North Alpine Drive. After investigation, deputies placed Angela Duke, 52, of Byron under arrest for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Duke was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

On July 24 at approximately 8:30 p.m. deputies responded to the 200 block of Main Street in Holcomb for a disturbance. After investigation, deputies arrested Jennifer K. Nash, 47, of Holcomb, for domestic battery. Nash was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

On July 24 at 7:56 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 18,000 block of East Illinois Route 64 for a registration violation. After an investigation, Jordan Davidson, 32, of Elgin was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Davidson was also cited for suspended registration and operating a vehicle with no insurance. Davidson was released from the scene on a signature I-Bond.

On July 24 at approximately 3:02 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Illinois Route 64 and Grandview Terrace. After further investigation, Bryce Austin, 21, of Rochelle, was placed under arrest for possession of cannabis with intent to deliver (Class 3 Felony). Austin was also cited for no front registration and no trailer lights. Austin was transported to the Ogle County Jail where was held pending an appearance before a judge.

On July 24 at 8:13 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the area of Illinois Route 64 and South Rocky Hollow Road for a driving complaint. The vehicle was eventually located in the 3,900 block of West Illinois Route 64 in rural Mt. Morris and a traffic stop was initiated. Darren M. Findrick, 47, of Mt. Morris was placed under arrest for possession of controlled substance (heroin) Class 1 Felony, possession of controlled substance (cocaine) Class 1 Felony, and unlawful possession of cannabis/driver. Findrick was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance in front of a judge. Deputies were assisted by the Mt. Morris Police Department.

On July 25 at approximately 10:56 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Hitt Street and Illinois Route 64 in Mt. Morris. After further investigation, Seth Rudecki, 19, of Stillman Valley, was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance (Class 4 Felony) and unlawful possession of cannabis/improper container. Rudecki was also cited for speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  Rudecki was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance before a judge.

On July 25 at 1:34 p.m. deputies investigated an accident on Interstate 39 northbound at the 107.5 mile marker.  Brandy Carlson, 42, of Knoxville, Illinois struck the rear of a car driven by Richard Broek, 73, of Lake Orion, Michigan, in the rear. Broek's vehicle then spun out of control and struck the overpass embankment of Lindenwood Road that crosses Interstate 39 at that location. Broek and his wife, Judith Broek, 71, were transported to Swedish American Hospital by Lynn Scott Rock EMS for minor injuries. Carlson was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and given a court date to appear.

On July 27 deputies arrested Gonzalo Herrera, 25, of Rockford for driving while license suspended. Herrera was arrested by deputies on Interstate 39 near Illinois Route 64 after being stopped for speeding. Herrera was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.
