ROCHELLE — Shortly after 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, Rochelle Police and Fire crews responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a car hitting a house at 101 Southview Drive.
Initial reports indicate the driver of the car, eastbound on Southview, was waiting at the stop sign at South Main St. and pressed the gas pedal while inching forward. The car struck the rear wheels of a semi driving southbound on South Main.
The driver, Over Carcasses-Leyua, 76, of Rochelle, lost control, careening into the house. He refused medical treatment at the scene and was cited for failure to reduce speed and no insurance.
