ROCHELLE — Nicholas Andrew Binz, 59, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017 in Madison, Wis. Nick was born Dec. 8, 1957 to Andrew D. and Lois M. (Stein) in Rockford. He grew up in Rochelle, graduated Rochelle Township High School in 1976, and went on to study business at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, graduating in 1980.
Nick began work with Del Monte Foods in Rochelle, relocated to New Jersey and California before returning to Rochelle with Del Monte in 1991. He also worked for Kraft Foods and TreeHouse Foods until they closed their location in Mendota in 2013. Nick was an avid golfer and sports fan.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Andy in April of 1998 and Lois in March of 2014.
He is survived by his younger sister, Janice (Arnold) Madsen and niece, Andrea Madsen.
By Nick’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. His family will be having a private graveside service.
