ROCHELLE — New members Cheri Troy and Janet Cotter were welcomed to the Rochelle Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution at the November meeting.

Any woman, age 18 or older, who can trace their direct family lineage to a person who aided the cause of the American Revolution, is eligible to join the DAR, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background.

Shown left to right: Chaplain Mary Lou Kator, Regent Laurie Perry, Troy and Cotter.

The next meeting of the Rochelle Chapter will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Creston Opera House. Luan Wine will be presenting a program on the 12 identical "Madonna of the Trail" statues dedicated in 1928 & 1929 to the spirit of pioneer women. They mark the "Old Trails Road" as it passes through 12 states from Bethesda, Maryland to Upland, California. Guests are welcome to attend.
