ROCHELLE — Neva R. Becker, 91, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin Grove. Neva was born on Sept. 21, 1927 in Pine Rock Township, the daughter of Hiram and Esther (Davison) Ludwig. She married Clarence Becker on Aug. 22, 1946 at Reynolds United Methodist Church in Ashton.
Neva was a graduate of Ashton High School. Her primary job was as a farm wife and mother. She worked at Rochelle National Bank as a bookkeeper. She worked summers at Del Monte to help out with the farm and at Caron Spinning. She was a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church and a friend of the Reynolds United Methodist Church in Ashton. Neva was an avid Cubs fan and loved to craft, quilt, sew, and cook.
Neva is survived by her children, Robert (Kathleen) Becker of Ashton, Nancy (Rick) Finley of Denver, Colorado, and Lorraine Becker of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Chad (Carrie) Becker, Joe (Kamya) Becker, and Susan (Ellary) Hess; 10 great-grandchildren, Dakota Becker, Brandon Redieske, Zayne Becker, Nathan Becker, Barrett Becker, Jacob Becker, Genevieve Becker, Kailyn Hess, Carter Hess, and Mason Hess; and a brother, Hiram Ludwig Jr.
In addition to her parents, Neva is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Becker, on May 21, 1991; three brothers, Melvin Ludwig, James Ludwig, and Gerald Ludwig; and two sisters, Edris Myers and Wanda Hendrickson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St. in Rochelle.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 19 at Reynolds United Methodist Church, 2496 Reynolds Road in Ashton with Pastor Seamus Enright officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
Contributions in Neva’s memory may be directed to Vitas Hospice or Reynolds and Rochelle Methodist churches.
