During Monday night’s Rochelle City Council meeting, Rochelle Mayor John Bearrows officially proclaimed Aug. 25 through Aug. 31 as National Everybody Eats Week. Bearrows (at left) singled out the work being done at The Kitchen Table Café and presented owners Carolyn and Grant Brown with the framed proclamation. The Kitchen Table, which is located on IL Route 38 west toward Ashton, prepares and serves meals at least twice per week to patrons and offers a “pay what you can” option to help some low-income residents enjoy a dinner out.
