ROCHELLE — Cissy Zies is always lending a hand at the Rochelle Moose Lodge, from cooking and cleaning to decorating. Lodge members, family, and friends are returning the generosity by hosting a benefit on Saturday to help Zies as she continues to battle cancer.

The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 18 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rochelle Moose Lodge. Come for an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, which includes garlic bread and salad, for $8.

There will also be raffle items and sweet treats available. Bowling certificates, hot tub suite gift certificate, gift baskets, homemade decorative table, restaurant certificates, and gas cards are just some of the items to be raffled. Anyone interested in donating items for the benefit are asked to bring them to the Lodge anytime after 2 p.m. this week.

“Cissy is here at the Lodge anytime she can, unless she is not feeling well. She is always helping, and does so much for us,” said Pat Maronde, Women of the Moose Lodge member and recorder. “She has been kicking cancer and we want to help her continue doing that.”

Zies was diagnosed a little over a year ago, spent two weeks in intensive care after contracting pneumonia and is now undergoing radiation treatments.

The Rochelle Moose Lodge is located at 311 N. Main St., Rochelle. 815-562-4286.
