LOVES PARK — Mary Suzanne Mitchell Burgess, born Feb. 24, 1932, died peacefully at home in Loves Park, on Friday, May 17, 2019 surrounded by family.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years (Aug. 2019), George Edward Burgess; her daughters, Loretta (Mike) Thompson and Teresa Shriver; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; loving relatives, like Sharon Spencer Wallace; and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. B. are best known for serving the Rochelle community as the long-term owner/operators of Country School Restaurant.
A memorial service and burial will be held at Riverside Community Church Crematory Memorial Garden in Machesney Park on a date yet to be determined. Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home.
