ROCHELLE — Lois E. Maxey, 93, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Pineacres Care Center in DeKalb. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She was born on Dec. 9, 1924 in Rochelle, the daughter of Levi and Reva (Oberla) Rassmussen. She Married H. Dale Maxey on Sept. 7, 1946 in Rochelle; he preceded her on Sept. 5, 1998.
She is also preceded by her parents; two brothers, Clarence and Wilbur, and son-in-law, Terry Frazer.
Lois loved working in her yard and caring for the house her husband built. She wrote verses for friends and family and enjoyed writing.
Survivors include two sons, William Maxey of Paris, Tenn., and Timothy R. (Lourdes) Maxey of Compton; and two daughters, Kathleen Frazer of Cherry Valley, and Maureen Ann (Ron) Wallace of Rochelle; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 5 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1415 10th Ave., Rochelle with Pastor Greg Hoffman officiating. Visitation will also be on Thursday from noon to 12:50 p.m. prior to the funeral.
