The Rochelle Little League 11U Baseball All-Stars bowed out of the Illinois Little League State Championship tournament this past weekend, finishing 1-2 over three games. Rochelle won over Bradley-Bourbonnais by forfeit before falling 4-0 against Western Springs in the second round. Rochelle battled Paris in the consolation bracket on Monday, losing 12-0.

Little League: 11U Baseball All-Stars medal at Illinois Little League State Championship

MOLINE — The Rochelle Little League 11U Baseball All-Stars bowed out of the Illinois Little League State Championship tournament this past weekend, finishing 1-2 over three games. Rochelle won over Bradley-Bourbonnais by forfeit before falling 4-0 against Western Springs in the second round. Rochelle battled Paris in the consolation bracket on Monday, losing 12-0.

Holden Liebhaber threw a complete game for Rochelle against Western Springs, striking out two batters and allowing only five hits. Brayden Harley doubled and Bo Lundquist singled for the team’s lone two hits in the loss. Western Springs took a 1-0 lead after the first inning before adding one run in the fifth inning and two runs in the top of the sixth inning.

Paris exploded for eight runs in the first inning before compiling three runs in the second inning and one run in the third inning to eliminate Rochelle on Monday. Lundquist and Luke Chadwick each recorded singles for the Rochelle offense, while Elijah Schweitzer, Jace Spears and Liebhaber each drew walks. Schweitzer struck out three batters in three innings on the mound for Rochelle.
