DIXON — Joanne V. Chamness passed away July 6, 2019 at home in Dixon at 84 years old. She was born Joanne V. Hahn on Dec. 28, 1934 by lantern light on the family farm in Sublette.
She made many friends while working in Rochelle, and was well known for her cooking, sizzling steaks at the Long Branch Saloon in Amboy.
She’ll be greatly missed by her husband, Ron; and her four children, Terry of Amboy, Troy of the United Kingdom, Toni, and Jennifer of Dixon.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon. She requested no other services.
Her final days were attended to with wonderful care by the kind people of Serenity Hospice. Any donation in Joanne’s name to Serenity Hospice would be appreciated.
