HILLCREST — A man involved in a home invasion last October has plead guilty in Ogle County court and was sentenced Monday.
Basim Ajvazi, 22, of Hillcrest, received a three-year sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections Monday and two years mandatory supervised release following his plea in Ogle County Court.
Ajvazi pled guilty to the Class 2 felony offense of robbery. He was also charged with home invasion and criminal trespass to property and a residence in the case; however, those charges were dismissed following his guilty plea to the robbery charges.
The incident, which took place in October 2016 at a home on Lakeview Drive in Rochelle included Ajvazi, Keegan Akers and Conor Smith, all of Hillcrest. Akers was sentenced in September to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Along with his sentence, Ajvazi must pay fines and court costs totaling $2,227.
