ROCHELLE — Rochelle Police Department Dispatcher Candice Jackson has been with the department for one year and works overnight shifts.
Jackson’s responsibilities in her position include answering non-emergency calls and 911 calls and dispatching the proper responders from RPD, the Rochelle Fire Department and the Ogle-Lee Fire Protection District. She has a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement and justice administration from Western Illinois University.
“I got into the profession because I’ve always had a passion for helping others,” Jackson said. “What I enjoy most is that I get to help others at a time when it matters the most.”
When she’s not at work, Jackson enjoys spending her free time with friends, family, her dog and going to sporting events and concerts.
Jackson sang the praises of her coworkers when asked about what she’d like the community to know about the department.
“Everyone at RPD goes above and beyond to help our community members in their time of need,” Jackson said.
