ROCHELLE — It was another successful year for the “From the Heart” event Saturday evening, presented by the Rochelle Rotary Club.

About 240 people attended the hangar at the Flight Deck Bar and Grill, raising $44,000 for eight non-profit organizations:  HOPE of Ogle county, Rochelle Child Care Center, Hub City Senior Center, Rochelle Christian Food Pantry, Shining Star, Rochelle Area Community Foundation, FOCUS House and CASA.

“It was another great event, the community was very generous once again,” said Dave Eckhardt, President, From the Heart committee. “The new venue was a real success. We’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about the food, the venue, the whole nine yards.”

Although the event was just a few days ago, plans for next year are already underway. The committee is scheduled to meet this week to review and go over any changes, if necessary.

He also extended his gratitude for the hard work the committee and each of the organizations’ directors each year.

“It takes a team, everyone has a job. For us to have done this for 12 years is truly amazing. And we want to thank everyone in the community, the support is awesome,” he added. “Because of the huge success it was this year, we hope it will grow even larger than this year.”

The event included several raffles and a silent auction as well as a live auction.
