On Jan. 20 at approximately 9:07 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies and the Lynn-Scot-Rock Fire Department were dispatched to a single vehicle accident on Illinois Route 72 in rural Davis Junction. A 2019 Dodge Ram traveling eastbound on Illinois Route 72 went off the south side of the roadway. The Dodge slid down into the ditch, traveled more than 600 feet, overturned and struck several trees in a wooded area south of the roadway. The driver of the Dodge, Courtney Paulson, 43, of Rockford, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ogle County Coroner. The accident remains under investigation.
