COMPTON — David Gene Bialas, loving husband, dad, son and brother, 55, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018 in Evanston.  Dave was born on Sept. 9, 1963 to Gene and Joyce (McGee) Bialas in Rochelle.

He graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1981. He married Peggy Jean Grennan on Feb. 28, 2003 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle.  

Dave was an iron worker for Area Erectors for many years. 

Those who knew Dave were able to see first hand the love and devotion he had for Peggy and his children; choosing to spend all his free time with them.  He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting, farming with his dad, and planting trees on his land.

Dave is survived by his wife, Peggy; five children, Luke, Cain, Rebecca, Cheryl and David Bialas; his parents, Gene and Joyce Bialas of West Brooklyn; two sisters, Angie (Mike) Williams of Rochelle and Cathy (Ron) Fraze of Columbus, Montana; and many beloved nieces and nephews. 

The visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle.  The service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 12 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 236 Kelley Drive, Rochelle, with Father Ruben Herrera and Deacon George Schramm officiating.  Burial will follow the service at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle.  

A memorial has been established.
