ROCHELLE — Current Rochelle City Council member John Bearrows has announced his intent to run for Mayor of Rochelle.
“I am pleased to announce that I have picked up my petition and intend to be a candidate for the spring of 2019 election for Mayor of the City of Rochelle,” Bearrows said. “This decision comes following the encouragement and support of local people, and I look forward to the opportunity and challenges that come with the position. After being on city council as a councilman, I have gained insight as to possible changes and challenges as our community grows and moves forward, and my hope is to continue to assist with that movement in a positive way as mayor. I will bring my 44 years of business experience dealing with not only the general public and personnel, and importantly, financial decisions, and apply them to the governing of the City of Rochelle.”
