On Saturday at 8:51 a.m., the Illinois State Police were called to a personal injury crash on Interstate 39 northbound at milepost 79. The investigation revealed a 2005 red Pontiac Grand Am driven by a 15-year-old juvenile of Fairview Heights was traveling next to a truck tractor/semi-trailer when the juvenile lost control of the vehicle on the icy roadway and slid under the semi-trailer. The juvenile and passenger, Kevin A. Lawrence, 41, of Fairview Heights, were treated for minor injuries. The juvenile driver was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, no valid registration, and no valid license/permit. Lawrence was cited for permitting an unauthorized person to drive. Paw Paw Fire Department/EMS assisted at the scene.
