SYCAMORE — The Rochelle boys track and field program sent both its varsity and fresh-soph squads to the Sycamore Invitational at the Sycamore High School Fieldhouse on Wednesday. The varsity Hubs placed seventh with 29 points, while the fresh-soph Hubs also took seventh with 28 points.
Varsity
Senior Dallas List finished 10th in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.48 seconds, and junior Parker Hale finished 13th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.87. Junior Jazper Murray placed 18th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.47.
Junior Gyvanziel Quinonez led Rochelle in the 800-meter run, placing second with a time of 2:07.58 while senior Connor Lenkaitis finished fifth with a time of 2:12.89. Senior Jessee Infante took 10th in the 1600-meter run (5:10.49) and fourth in the 3200-meter run (11:05.66). Senior Ryan Friestad was fourth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.18.
Rochelle’s 640-meter relay team of seniors Greg Ricketts, Dylan Finkboner and juniors Ben Hickey and Aaron Vondergathen finished fourth with a time of 1:21.58. The Hubs placed seventh in the 1600-meter relay (4:04.84) behind Hickey, Lenkaitis, Infante and Ricketts.
Junior Ulices Montoya placed 16th in the shot put with a heave of 27-10, and senior Mason DeLille and Hickey tied for seventh in the high jump at 5-4. DeLille placed ninth in the long jump (17-7 ½) and third in the triple jump (39-4).
Fresh/Soph
Freshman Shepard Hayes finished 10th in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.69, and freshman Michael Ramsey took 12th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.08. Freshman Luke Orlikowski was 11th in the 400-meter run (1:04.70) and freshman Josue Huerta was 10th in the 1600-meter run (5:31.84) and fifth in the 3200-meter run (12:31.59).
Sophomore Trevor Goodwin placed third in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.64. Goodwin also finished first in the triple jump (40-6) and second in the long jump (18-3 ½). Sophomore Joseph Bennett placed seventh in the shot put with a heave of 30-9 ½.
Rochelle’s 640-meter relay team of Ramsey, Hayes, Goodwin and freshman Bryton DiSimoni placed fifth with a time of 1:27.45. The Hubs finished eighth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:38.50 behind DiSimoni, Ramsey, Hayes and Huerta.
