Green, Haas earn doubles win as Rochelle falls 4-1

LASALLE — The Rochelle Hub varsity tennis team opened Interstate 8 Conference play with a 4-1 loss against LaSalle-Peru on the road Tuesday evening. Seniors John Green and Owen Haas combined to score the lone match point for the Hubs (1-1, 0-1 Interstate 8), winning their match 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 over Andrew Bollis and Danny Santoy on the No. 1 doubles court.

Junior Jimmy Chavez took three games in a 2-6, 1-6 loss against Adam Kasperski at the No. 1 singles court, while freshman Mark Green played a close second set in his 1-6, 4-6 loss against Michael Peters at the No. 2 singles court. Junior Parker Lenkaitis and senior Evin Odle fell 0-6, 0-6 against Jon Milota and Michael Milota at the No. 2 doubles court, with seniors Paul Swartz and Jace Whitehead hanging tough in a 3-6, 5-7 loss to Colin Krug and Riley O'Brien at the No. 3 doubles court.
