FRANKLIN GROVE — Blanche O. Schene, 92, formerly of Rochelle, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Blanche was born on May 19, 1927 to John and Corrine (Deitch) Allen in Leland. On Aug. 25, 1945, she married Harold G. “Stump” Schene in Chana. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2000.
Blanche is survived by her son, Jeff Schene of Rochelle; daughter, Judy (Larry) Peters of Cherry Valley; brother, Donald (Mildred) Allen of Wausau, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Mark Peters, Jacob Dougherty and Katherine (Ryan) Carlson and four great-grandchildren, Ben, Griffin, Nora and Emery.
In addition to her husband and parents, Blanche is predeceased by four sisters, Zelda Allen, Margaret Tuntland, Helen Ramsett and Harriet Cater and three brothers, John, Robert and Howard Allen.
The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Rochelle United Methodist Church, 709 Fourth Ave., Rochelle, with Pastors Dave Rogula and Rob Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
A memorial will be established.
