ROCHELLE — Betty Kathleen O’Rorke, 88, peacefully moved to Heaven Monday, Sept. 25, 2017 at her home in Rochelle. Betty was born June 4, 1929 to Frank D. and Kathryn R. (Atkinson) Templeman, at home in Ogle County.
She married Paul Joseph O’Rorke on May 23, 1947 in Rochelle. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2003.
Betty’s most noteworthy achievements were wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Because of her deep love for the Lord, she led numerous praise groups and Bible studies throughout her life.  Betty also enjoyed the arts through playing the guitar and drawing. 
For over ten years, Betty enjoyed being the Executive Correspondent for Hand in Hand Ministry in Rochelle. She was able to reach out to many people in the community through her gentle, kind, artistic and generous spirit.
In addition to her parents and husband, Paul, she is also predeceased by two children, Mary and James; two brothers, Edwin and Edward Templeman; one grandson, Conor O’Rorke; and great-grandson, Hunter Thomas.
Betty is survived by her 10 children, Pat (Sue) of Rock Hill, N.C., Angela (Spike) Flanders of Silver City, N.M., Lori Schoenrock of Rochelle, PJ (Jennifer) of Steward, Elizabeth (Rick) Reed of Rochelle, John (Lolly) of Rochelle, Dominic (Kim) of Rochelle, Peter (Rhonda) of Amboy, Matt (Nancy Lungstrom) of Rochelle and Bernard (Alice) of Rochelle; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the funeral home with Chaplain Jay LeRette officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
At Betty’s request, please omit all flowers; memorials may be made in her memory to  Rochelle Transport for Christ ministry.
