ROCHELLE — Betty Jean Davidson, 74, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, Aug.16, 2017 at the SwedishAmerican Hospital.  
She was born Sept. 16, 1942 in Decatur, the daughter of James Clyde and Etta Genevieve (Starns) Meserole. She married Charles E. Davidson on Sept. 20, 1960 in Rochelle.
Betty worked as a cook for Kings Elementary School for many years. She then worked as a pharmacy technician at Wal-Mart and then at the First National Bank in Rochelle. 
Betty is survived by her husband, Charles Davidson of Rochelle; her children, Lisa Wedig of Winnebago, Bruce (Kim) Davidson of Rochelle, and Chuck (Diana) Davidson of Stillman Valley; six grandchildren, Jennifer (fiancè Eric Speakes) Wedig, Jacob (Megan) Wedig, and Luke, Cole, Evan and Taylor Davidson; one great-grandchild, Brycen Wedig; her siblings, Robert (Sharon) Meserole of Belvidere and Faye (Herschel) Woolbright of Loves Park; and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Meserole of Texas and Alice Meserole of Dubuque, Iowa.
Betty is preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Joe Meserole and James Arthur Meserole. 
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 21 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., in Rochelle with Pastor Keith Manley officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 - 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation care will be accorded after the services. Interment will be private.
