ROCHELLE — The Caron International Building, along Avenue E, has sat vacant since 1995 and the process to demolish the building began on Monday.
“LaGrou Distribution has been working in the building in previous months to remove asbestos and received a demolition permit on Monday,” said Kip Countryman, building inspector for the City of Rochelle.
He added the main buildings along Avenue E are the only sections of the complex that will be removed as the others are currently used.
