ROCHELLE — The 10-11 Rochelle All-Stars split a pair of games with Freeport this week, losing the first bout Monday 6-5 but coming back and picking up an 18-12 victory Wednesday evening at the Joe Donor Memorial diamond.

Down two runs late in the game, Rochelle scored the two runs it needed to tie things up on Monday, but Freeport pushed across a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull out the 6-5 win.

Jeremy Etes led the All-Stars with a triple and one run scored. Nick Albers scored two runs and had a double and Eddie Villalobos had a double. Mason DeLille and Anthony Hueramo recorded one RBI each and Gavin Ansteth added one run. Isaac Musselman and Keegan Davis each singled and scored one run each.

Villalobos started on the mound for Rochelle and gave up three runs before Ansteth came in for relief. He went four strong innings to keep the All-Stars in the game and recorded five strike outs. Ethan Etes also saw some time on the mound as did DeLille, who struck out three hitters but also suffered the loss.
